For those local residents that may be heading East into Pinal County this weekend, Country Thunder is taking place. To help travelers avoid Country Thunder traffic, Pinal County has issued some guidance on the weekend event to help drivers make it through the area.
FLORENCE, AZ – If you won’t want to be caught in the traffic heading to Country Thunder. Making it around the line of RV’s and fans heading to Arizona’s largest Country Western Festival is easy. It make take some extra time, so please plan accordingly.
Heading North on State Route 79:
Turn left off of State Route 79 onto State Route 287 (heading toward Coolidge). Follow State Route 287 until you come to Attaway Road. Make a right hand turn and follow road until you get to Hunt Highway, make a right turn and Felix Road will be on your left. Turn on Felix Road and head north until Arizona Farms Road. Make a right hand turn heading east. You will run into State Route 79 once again. Make a left hand turn and proceed north.
Heading South on State Route 79
Turn right onto Arizona Farms Road and head west. When you get to Felix Road, make a left hand turn and proceed south until you get to Hunt Highway. Make a right hand turn and then you will see Attaway Road. Make a left and proceed south until you make it to State Route 287. Make a left onto State Route 287 (heading towards Florence). Follow the signs until you are back on State Route 79. Turn right and proceed south.

The Pinal County Office of Emergency Management and Pinal County Sheriff’s Office along with Country Thunder are teaming together to update concert-goers before, during and after the four-day event.
